I've signed up for the free trial of AT&T's new TV streaming service, DirectTV Now. For a limited time, you can lock in the price of $35 for 100 TV channels. This is supposed to be similar to Sling and other services that let you watch live TV.
* it's mostly accessible. I get it to play on my iPhone, but can't make the webplayer work.
* The signup process was a little annoying, but I eventually got my audio captcha to verify... somehow. It was a lot of button clicking, box checking, NVDA trial and error.
* I can't display the network list on my phone. I have to search for "Animal Planet" and find the channel heading and click it from there.
I don't know all the ins and outs of this service. I read something about them not having local channel licenses in all places, so you might have to wait a day to watch NBC shows. I'm not sure how true this is. I literally just got it up and running five minutes ago. But for anyone interested in this service and wondering if they should bother, I can make it play channels, so that's farther than I got with Sling!
I think I'll stick with xfinity! A bit more expensive, but does the trick. Their web player and website are also quite accessible. Just don't ever call their customer service for help. Otherwise you're going to spend two hours trying to explain your problems to someone who barely knows how to speak two words of English. That's my only real gripe with them.
